Midweek update.

It's Wednesday, it's time for the midweek update. Writing: I finished one story. Added some content to three more. Haven't even started on one of them. So I added it up, I am working on seven total stories. I didn't even know the total, in my head. I had to look at the draft section on Blogger. Ha ha. No wonder, I am having writers block. I will keep working on them as inspiration hits me, plus I don't want to rush my stories out, just to get them out. I want them to be quality. These stories and characters mean a lot to me and they deserve it.

Video games: I beat level eight on The Legend Of Zelda. I haven't touched A Link To The Past since I beat Mothula. That shit was hard. I used my Good Bee, my green potion, Fire Rod and I still don't know how I beat him, but I did. That was an intense level.

Random pictures from around the web.

I wish the person who made this actually spelt Xerxes correctly. I saw this and laughed out loud.

I learned more from this, than I remember I did from class.

This is me to a fucking t. Ha ha.

Sad news, over the weekend, Oso, in Snohomish county was hit by a landslide. The number of people missing and dead are still climbing. The picture below, illustrates just how big this landslide was.

Weekend review 3/22/14 - 3/23/14.

This weekend was Melissa's first birthday weekend. She went to Oregon for an overnight stay, for a girls night. That meant I, got to have the house to myself. It was my birthday a couple weeks ago and I got some Amazon gift cards. My first purchase was a new internal hard drive for my computer. My primary drive was running out of space due to all my movies I had on there. I went with a Western Digital 2TB. Saturday I installed my hard drive.

I knew it wouldn't be a full 2 terabytes when it was formatted, but I wanted some good space for my movies and pictures. So, as you see below, it came out to 1.81 terabytes, or 1,810 gigs. that is pretty damn good.

Since Melissa wasn't here, I didn't want to stuck in the office all day, so I decided to move the computer downstairs to the living room.

I did all my backups of my primary drive and watched anime all day. Life couldn't get any better, except for Jimmy Johns delivery.

Sunday, I had to do some cleaning around the house and pick up all my mess I made. Melissa came home Sunday night and brought me a few treats.

Mmm, brain flavored.

I don't know if my brain will let me try these brain flavored mints or not? Nope I didn't take a lot of pictures and this blog is late but oh well. Ha ha. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend. I hope you did too. Til next time.

Midweek update.

Wednesday, the midweek update begins. I came up with a new story summary. All together I have, seven stories I'm working on. Two of them, are only summaries, so I don't have to focus all my time on them. Three stories, are in pieces. I have writers block on all three. One story, I haven't even began to work on yet. I need to figure out what direction I'm going in. And the last story I can't even begin, to think of how to write it. I think I need to take that off my list. I posted original ending to Bruce Vs, please check that out. I worked really hard on that ending and it shows more of the love story between Bruce and Betty.

I have found a new to me, old for everyone else song. It's called Pink Floyd Time Remix by Pretty Lights. You can check out their site and hear some cool music. Pretty Lights website. I love Pink Floyd, so when I heard the Time remix I was intrigued. Pretty Lights, in my opinion, did a really good job on it.

Video games, I got to the Mothula dungeon, in The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past. Jeez, for being a 20 plus year old game, it's kicking my ass. And I wonder why I suck at video games so much, I can't even beat old games. Ha ha. I will keep working at it though. Below are some thought provoking pictures.

 Till next time.

Weekend review 3/15/14 - 3/16/14.

I have been told, that I use the words "so" and "well" too much to start my blogs. So I will try something else and move on. Friday night, we rented Dallas Buyers Club and The Best Man Holiday. I did not expect these movies to be two hours long each. The Dallas Buyers Club, had some extremely good actors in it. Matthew McConaughey, is an excellent actor and played this part very well. The movie was good overall, but long in my opinion. The Best Man Holiday, had some really good actors in it also. It's interesting to grow up watching a bunch of different movies and getting used to different actors and actresses. for example Nia Long and Morris Chestnut, played in Boyz N The Hood together. The cast played very well off of each other and the story was convincing.

Saturday, we finished watching The Best Man Holiday and ran a couple of errands. We had an amazing lunch from one of our favorite places, AJ's Burgers. We finished our lunch and did some chores. Saturday night, we had our Netflix movie Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. About 35 minutes in to it, we turned it off because it was so stupid. I knew it was a satire type movie going into it, but I did not expect what we got. So we started our journey into Netflix streaming to find something to watch. We settled on The Woman Who Wasn't There. This is a documentary about a lady who lied about 9/11. It makes you mad and makes you feel sorry for the real survivors. And we watched, The Elephant In The Living Room. This documentary, will make you sick to your stomach. I cannot believe, what humans will do. This movie made me so damn mad. It is an eye opening movie, that you should definitely watch.

Sunday, we had our normal house chores. I hope you had a good weekend too. Till next time.

New Year Resolutions 2014 Edition.

Well every year people make resolutions of things they're going to do or not do in the new year. I guess, looking back I did not make resolution post for 2013. Side note, one of my resolutions this year is to blog more. So here's to a better late than never quick and short resolution list for 2014.
  1. Blog more. I need to let my head filled with all of this stuff out. I need to vent more, post happy stuff more, write movie reviews again, just everything again.
  2. Have more adventures. Last year we had so many adventures. We had a budget but we made it work. And those were some of the best summers we have had. So we need to do more.
  3. Play more video games. I need to at least dedicate like a couple hours a weekend to playing games. Even with two hours it will not take away from the busy schedule we have and it will still give me time to knock off my next bucket list item.
  4. Complete and finish old video games. I don't know how far back I will go to complete this but I do have many years of games that I need to finish. It was such an accomplishment for me to actual finish games that I played in 2013, that I can't wait to do it this year also.
  5. Eat more healthy than I did in 2013. I did good in 2013 but there's always room for improvement.
  6. Take more pictures. I took a lot of good pictures in 2013, but I need to take more. I noticed towards the end of the year, I wasn't taking as many pictures as normal, because the picture "wasn't right". I take pictures for me and that's it. I don't spend a lot of time making sure it is 100 percent and I started doing that. I need to get back to basics again and just have fun.
  7. Vent more. I need to let myself vent and let it out. My childhood best friend chose to kill himself in December of 2013. I kinda dealt with it but not really. I don't actually know how I would "deal" with it and that's part of the problem. How does one actually deal with a death or a loss? I don't know.
  8. Work on smoking less than I am now. I am down to just a few a day and few on the weekend 3 a day and 5 a weekend day. I want to get down to 2 a day and like 4 on the weekend days. That's a good start to eventually trying to quit.
  9. I need to work on my attitude towards things. I need to work on being able to let things go or not let things get to me. I need to work on my customer service aspect of my job. I need to remember that if I was in their shoes how mad I would be at some asshole. It's harder than you think it is. Some people don't deserve any ounce of respect and some people are complete assholes. This one will be extremely hard to me. I just feel that society as a whole is going down the tubes and it's hard to be nice when other people don't even try.
  10. Be more open minded. Be open to try new things like I did last summer. I hate Seattle with a passion. But I went there more than a couple times and everything all together was good. I won't love Seattle but at least I know I can go if fun calls.
  11. Write more short stories. I loved doing this. I was so proud of myself for writing the stories I did. I have a huge imagination and I need to let it free.
  12. Find new music. I am always on the hunt for new good music.
  13. Get a Marvel Wolverine graphic t-shirt. Accomplished 3-5-14.
  14. Buy some more movies for my collection.
  15. Buy some collector's edition sets for my collection.
I am coming up with goals or resolutions that are attainable. I also want to have fun with these. How people come up with serious no fun ones and they never obtain them? I am not going to put down for instance become a millionaire, I know it's not going to happen. There are some hard ones on the list and it will take a lot of effort on my part to pull it off and make it happen. I don't know how it will turn out but if it's at least in my head I can hopefully try and do it. Number nine on the list, I don't even know how I will be able to accomplish it. It's good to have goals and dreams. What's your resolutions or goals? Till next time.

3-14-14 update.
Well I get to update my New Years Resolutions. Melissa, actually bought my Wolverine graphic t-shirt for my birthday!! I am going to continue working accomplishing these goals and I will update it. Till next time.

Midweek update.

It is time for the midweek update. There's lots of stuff to go over this time, so let's start with the stories. I completed the title and and end credit song for one story. I completed the end credit songs for two other stories. I got to update one blog post. I have been stuck, thinking about different story lines for all my stories. I'm kind of having writer's block and a lack of time to write. So I will be working on that. So all and all, i have six stories I am working on.

Video games, I got to level seven of The Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past. That's it for games. I found a couple of new songs, first, A$AP Rocky - Fuckin' Problems featuring Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar. Second, Skrillex - Ruffneck (FULL Flex). These songs are probably old, but they are new to me and you should check them out. Fuckin' Problems, has 2 Chainz on it but he's only rapping the hook? Why can't he drop a few lines A$AP Rocky? Ha ha. The Skrillex - Ruffneck video is really crazy, but cool. Definitely check them both out.

A few inspirational pictures for ya:

Well that is about it for my midweek update. Till next time.

Weekend review 3/8/14 - 3/9/14.

So my birthday was on Wednesday, that meant we had to wait for the weekend to celebrate it. Wednesday night after work, Melissa made and amazing dinner for me.

Amazing dinner recipe right here courtesy of Melissa.

She decorated the house and bought a damn good chocolate cake.

The cake was actually not a lie, but damn good.

Now, I know you're saying, "Ben, how could it get any better than that?" And I will say, "But wait, it does!" You will say, "How?" Well, Melissa rented Thor The Dark World and had it ready to play for me, when I got home. That's how it gets better. We had an amazing dinner and watched an amazing movie. Side note, let me geek out for a minute, I would love to see movies follow the same timeline. For instance after the Avengers, New York City should be in ruins. So during Thor, you're seeing different parts of the world, but New York looks fine. And how come you never see Spider-Man, flying by? Or see the Fantastic 4? They live in the same New York as the Avengers took place. And how come during, the Avengers, you don't see Rhodey, or War Machine? Oh well whatever.

Friday we didn't really do much. We watched Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor. The movie actually wasn't bad and had a good message. A couple things I didn't understand, why Tyler Perry decided to put in the movie. First was the main woman character was a really goods actress, sold her part very, very well, but she looked like she was bulimic or anorexic. Her legs and arms were very gross to see. I personally wouldn't want that in my movie, but whatever. The second thing is when they were doing drugs, they would cut away so you almost couldn't tell what they were doing. The only reason I knew they were doing cocaine was because of the constant nose sniffing the characters were doing. But again, I thought this was a good underrated movie.

Saturday, we had plans to go to dinner and a movie. We had time to kill before our movie, so we went to Fred Meyers and I grabbed The Hunger Games Catching Fire. After our little shopping trip, we headed for the theater. We got inside and we were told the only non 3D showing of 300: Rise Of An Empire was at 6:10. Side tangent, I don't want to see movies in 3D, period. I don't know if it will make me sick, or give me a headache? So why am I going to pay extra for this fad, that I hope dies really soon and have to suffer through a movie that will look like crap without the glasses on? Pissed off, we left and went to Cristiano's Pizza Etc. The food was amazing as always. We ordered extra, so we could have leftovers later that night. We had plenty of time for dinner, grabbing dessert, taking the dessert and leftovers home and driving back to the movie theater. Well we got to the movie theater at 5:50, got inside to get our tickets and that's when the guy said it was actually 6:30. Great, now we had to sit for 40 minutes. Whatever, the movie was really good. I like how they picked up right where 300, left off.

Saturday night, we decided to rent About Time and Free Birds. About Time was a very slow, but well thought out masterpiece of a movie. I haven't seen a movie like this in a long, long time. The characters were well played, and they sold themselves very, very well. No spoilers here, but the movie makes you think, a lot, of what you would do in the situation. Bill Nighy, deserves an award, period. He is a great actor and deserves accolades. He is from the Underworld series, that's where I first saw him and I was intrigued with him. Harry Potter's Uncle Vernon, Richard Griffiths made an appearance in About Time. Not a big part, but it was cool to see him since he passed away last year. Definitely see About Time. Free Birds wasn't bad, but the trailers made it seem better.

Sunday, we decided to watch my recently purchased Hunger Games. It was definitely the re watch. I was told by some people that this book was actually really slow and not much fun when reading it. I don't read so I don't know first hand, but I do know this movie is amazing. I can't wait to see part three. We had to do some chores and that's about it. So this blog took so long to post was because of it being so long with links and pretty pictures and the internet was down at my work. One thing after another. I guess that's why they call it Monday. Please check out the movies if you can, I don't think you will be disappointed. Till next time.

Midweek update.

So it's Wednesday, it's my birthday and it's time for the midweek update. So on the story front, I am working on six different stories. I am making real progress on one of them. Another, I have written a paragraph. The format I am working on is different than what I usually use so it will take some interesting wording (pun intended) to complete. The picture below is captured from my blog stats. This was taken after I had written my midweek update last week. It's pretty cool that people actually went back and read some of my old stories, so thanks for that. Again It's not for page views or comments, but it's nice to see.

Shameless self promotion, worked. Thanks for the views people.

Let's see, nothing to report about for video game process, as I haven't had time to play anything. This weekend, I am planning on going out to see a movie, so the weekend review should have movie review.

Got my hat ready for next season. Go Hawks!

I finally, finally, received my Seahawks hat! After they dominated the Super Bowl, of course I wanted to get one. I want a hat so I can have it for next season. Big thank you to my beautiful wife for that. Below are some inspirational pictures I found throughout the week.

This is very true. One would be wise to remember it, in the heat of the moment.

This one isn't inspiration, it is reality. No one cares, unless it's happening to them.
Well that's it for this weeks update. Get inspired and do something for yourself. No one else will. Close doors so you can focus on the hallway. Till next time.

Weekend review 3/1/14 - 3/2/14.

Well, it's time for the weekend review. Friday night we were I was trying to find Thor: The Dark World to rent at Redbox, but it was sold out, so we tried Netflix. We found a movie special effects companies documentary called Nightmare Factory. It was actually pretty cool. It had interviews with George A. Romero, John Carpenter and Tom Savini. The company did old school effects for some big movies. Land of the Dead and  Day of the Dead just to name a few. If you like effects, you'll like this documentary.

Saturday, we had to renew out drivers licenses and get an oil change. How exciting is that? The DMV, only took 15 minutes from start to finish for both of us. I couldn't believe it. Oil change felt like it took three hours. Not really three hours but it felt that way. After the oil change, we got Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and a Jamba Juice. We went home and ate our delicious lunch. Saturday night, we watched Gravity. This was an amazing movie, with amazing effects. George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are amazing actors. This movie definitely, needs to win a lot of awards. As I always say, if the actors are good, they can sell you the characters and the story, the end result is amazing.

Sunday, we hung around home and did some chores. Nothing too exciting. I am looking forward to next weekend because, I am renting, Thor. Well this weekend review is short, sweet and that's the way I like it. definitely check out Gravity. Till next time.
