Midweek update.

It's the midweek update time again. Let's see what have I been working on? I have been adding different add-ons for Xbmc and what I have noticed, the process for Windows version of Xbmc and OpenELEC, seem very different. On OpenELEC, I was able to just find whatever add-on I wanted from the repositories. On the Windows Xbmc install, I had to actually download the repository, then install from zip. I also have noticed, there is more lag on the Windows install, then there is on the OpenELEC. Doing different installs and different streaming, I have found many of occasions that either a Raspberry Pi or an Ouya would be amazing. My raspberry Pi builds will get finished someday, but I think if I have the opportunity, I will buy an Ouya. It would a three in one device that would pay for itself sooner than later. It would be a game console, emulator and Xbmc device. It supports hard drives, sd cards, jump drives, wireless and wired internet. Internal space isn't great, but you really wouldn't need much if your content is in another area. You would just need the internal space for applications.

I just got done watching the Harry Potter series again and I still have a question. What happened to the Resurrection Stone? Harry took it out of the Snitch, then dropped it and walked away. According to the Harry Potter wiki, it was used, dropped and pushed into the ground. Well I guess that answers my own question. Harry Potter is still one of the best movie series I have ever seen.

 Video games
I'm still stuck on the GTAV level I talked about last time.

 Music
I found a new song that's pretty cool so check it out, Wiz Khalifa - We Dem Boyz

Here's an oldie, but goodie, Korn - Narcissistic Cannibal featuring Skrillex and Kill The Noise.

Well that's all I have for this update, till next time.

Weekend review for 8/23/14 - 8/24/14.

Friday night we just relaxed and watched Big Brother After Dark. Saturday we went to the marina park for a picnic date. We had Ray's Drive In fish and chips. Absolutely amazing like normal. To top it off we had a chocolate malt. Yum, yum. After our date, we went home and watched some shows. I got Land Of The Giants season one disc one, so I checked that out. It was still just as a remember it. It's from the 60's and the models are actually really damn good. I have to get the next disc now. I use to watch for hours Land Of The Giants, Lost In Space and all these other great shows. Now the hard part is trying to remember the names and trying to find them.

Sunday we had our house stuff to do and later that night we watched Big Brother and the MTV VMAs. They actually handed out maybe five awards this year. The rest of the time is performances. That's all we really did. It was nice to relax though. I know this was a small review, but we didn't do much. I hope you had a good weekend. Till next time.

Midweek update.

Well, not much has been going on. I really haven't touched the game room computer since Sunday night. I have been doing research on different, server options and I just can't decide what I really want to do. I want a nas type device, but I don't know if I want a big noisy ass computer on 24/7. In OpenELEC, I can see the drive on my office pc and move files back and forth. I have done this numerous times, so do I build a non used Xbmc computer, but use it as a server? I don't know?

 Video games:
I actually played a couple of missions in GTAV. I think it's just me, but those missions are getting really hard to do. I played the mission where you take Trevor and kill all of the motorcycle guys. I got killed repeatedly and had to restart the mission over 20 times.  I'm stuck on the mission with Trevor where you have to go back to the same trailer park and plant the sticky bombs and kill five guys with a head shot. I'm always spotted by the same guy and get killed. I'll just keep working at it.

 Music:
I don't have any new music, so I will start highlighting some old classics and favorites.
First up is Tool - Enema. Side note, I don't know how to do that A type thing at the beginning of Enema. It seems fitting that this song is talking about the end of the world and flooding and you better learn how to swim.

Next up is Korn - Another Brick In The Wall.

 Pictures:
These are random pictures I find for our enjoyment.

I know the celebrity's are actually donating, but it's funny that they're still doing this challenge.

Verne Troyer is funny as hell and when i saw this I couldn't stop laughing at it.
These random what are you questionnaires kill time and are entertaining.

The truth shall set you free!

Well that's what I got for this update. Enjoy the pictures and music, till next time

Weekend review for 8/16/14 - 8/17/14.

Friday night we watched some Netflix, nothing exciting. Saturday we had to get an oil change for my car. After the oil change we went to Five Guys Burger and Fries, for an amazing lunch. They have some of the best burgers and fries. After lunch we decided, fuck it, we're going to see a movie. We went and saw Into The Storm. I thought it was actually really good and Melissa thought so too.

It was in the smallest theater room I have ever seen, but it was a lot of fun. I actually will buy it when it comes out. I think all together there was 15 people in the room? There was huge movies that came out on Friday so it makes sense, but movies like this that are good, need to make money or they won't make them anymore. There were so many relevant things that happened in the movie and it showed pretty close to what it would be like to be stuck in a tornado.

Saturday night we we made another amazing homemade pizza.

This time we used a ranch type sauce instead of the normal red sauce. It was amazing again. Next time I'm gonna get some garlic bread. We watched Zookeeper, with Kevin James, Rosario Dawson and many, many other talented people. It was actually a pretty cool movie. It's not a buy, but it was cool. After the movie we streamed some more Netflix.

Sunday we had our normal house stuff to do. We made another amazing dinner. We called it taco tater tot casserole. It was so damn good. I will have to find the recipe and post it. Sunday night, I decided to mess around with the game room pc. I was trying to manually add the "missing movies", that still didn't work. I was trying to make the emulators work, they didn't and I accidentally, while trying to add a missing movie, re scraped the whole entire movie library. So all of my name fixes and movie corrections are lost. Awesome, more work for me later. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong? I'm just worried when I actually build my Raspberry Pi, I will run into the same problems and not know how to fix it. Well that was my weekend, I hope you had a good one too, till next time.

Midweek update.

So where to begin? I haven't touched the game room PC since Saturday. It's been way too hot to be cooped up in a stuffy room waiting for a slow network, while transferring files.

I actually don't have anything for this update. No music. I haven't been playing games. I started watching the Harry Potter series again and I still have found things I missed all the other times I watched them.

 Pictures

Well that was is for this exciting update. Ha ha. Till next time.

Weekend review for 8/9/14 - 8/10/14.

Friday night we rented Divergent from Redbox. I thought it was a really good movie. If this is a trilogy, I will definitely buy it. Shailene Woodley is a really good actress. She can sell her part like it's actually her going through it. There's a scene where she cries, but it looked like it was actually legit. I love seeing actors and actresses, selling their part. It's a definite buy recommendation from me.

 Saturday
We picked up our friend and we all three headed to the homegrown (homemade) festival. Yes, yes, I know it sounds like something else, but it's for homemade goods. This was the biggest it's been so far. We checked out the antique stores and the army surplus store. I was actually hoping to find a spent .50 cal casing or trench art, but they didn't have anything. After we walked the booths, we went to the Golden Corral for an amazing lunch. A lot of people say they have not liked the food from there or had a bad experience. If I ever have a bad experience or bad food, I am definitely not going back to to that place again. Anyways our food was amazing and I love it there and we definitely be going back.

After lunch, we headed to Value Village and to Goodwill. I had seen this HP usb infrared receiver before. I have been eye balling it on Amazon too. This goes anywhere from 16 bucks plus, with a remote and receiver, but I cant pass this up when I have a remote control that will work for it without syncing. This is what I need for my OpenELEC pcs.

Six bucks is not a bad price.

Back lit remote goodness.

My Xbox 360 dvd remote worked perfectly. I can select any movie see the info without having to use a keyboard and mouse. It made my day and it is amazing. The only thing I found out that didn't work was, chapter markers. I select those in Handbrake and they show up on VLC, so I don't know why it's not working in Xbmc. Oh well whatever, still made my day. And if I'm ever able to build my Raspberry Pi, I can use this receiver on that too.

Saturday night, we watched The Goonies. A classic movie and it still held up and was just as cool as it was when I was a kid watching it for the first time. So we did some research and the hideout bar was actually torn down and that area is now a park. I still want to see all these places one day. I would definitely recommend watching this again. After The Goonies, we watched some documentary on web cam girls. That was crazy, I would hate to be tied to a laptop and web cam for 12 hours straight.

 Sunday
we had our normal house chores to do and I had to mow the lawn when it was like almost 90 degrees. Well that was it, I hope you had a good weekend too. Till next time.

Midweek update.

After my long Sunday night, I did some research about missing movies in Xbmc. I found an add on that finds the missing movies. So Monday night I added it and started it. It found like 20 plus movies that wasn't in the movie section. Okay, cool, now how do I add those movies to the movie section? I guess more research is needed.

On Sunday I also tried the rom collection browser with no luck at all. Last night after doing research, I tried it again. It worked. I got my nes, snes roms and the emulator setup. Yay me. Okay, next inlet it scrape the data, get impatient and cancel it. I will just try the games that it did scrape. Go to the list, see the nice artwork and pick a game. I click it and nothing happens. So try this again on the whole list and nothing works or plays. Great, another wasted night of no progress. This is getting really old. If I didn't have extra time to kill now, I would scrap this whole bullshit. And even if I built my PidOne or bought an Ouya, the same thing would happen. It's not like it would magically fix all these problems. It won't fix bad movie scrapers, meta data being wrong and missing movies. So what the hell am supposed to do?

So I recently got done watching the Resident Evil series. I noticed some interesting things. First, what's going to happen to all of the clones of Milla Jovich? You know there's more than what they showed in the movie. In the fifth movie Retribution, why couldn't they save a clone of Michelle Rodriguez? So Milla Jovich got hit in the rib cage and her heart stopped. Luther got hit in the rib cage, his heart stopped and he dies. They couldn't have saved him? But Milla is okay? Oh well.

 Video games
That's a no go cause the rom collection browser not working. I also have been so busy trying to make this Xbmc game room PC work to do anything else.

 Music
I have found a new to me song: 2 Chainz - Where Ya Been? featuring Cap 1. I love the line where it says, I bought a new crib just to fuck you in. Ha ha.

 Pictures
Bill Nighy as Viktor in Underworld.

The Legend Of Zelda, it's a classic. I would take this and the Bentley in a minute.

Lil' Bub makes me laugh. I look forward to seeing the pictures everyday. I send them to Melissa, but she doesn't feel the same way. Any break from the monotony of life is welcome. Till next time.

Weekend review for 8/2/14 - 8/3/14.

Friday night we rented Noah from Redbox. It had Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson and Anthony Hopkins among others. It was loosely based on the bible according to reviews I read. I was actually extremely excited to see it ever since I saw the previews for it. For me, it didn't disappoint at all. It was a longer movie about two hours, but I think it was worth it. Now a question I had was, Cain was on the ark and was eating how many animals for how ever long they were on there and "the creator" isn't going to be mad at Noah for that? I would definitely recommend a buy for it.

 Saturday
We had a community garage sale. We decided to go out and find some stuff. I scored a terabyte hard drive and a mini usb keyboard for 40 bucks. The hard drive alone goes for 65 plus. My day was made and I we could have stopped there and went home. We actually got rained out so we decided to go to Value Village. I scored again at Value Village.

I found Kansas, U2 and Phil Collins on record for 49 cents a piece! That is a score. After Value Village, we headed to La Hacienda for a nice site down lunch. The food was really good. After we had our lunch, we went to the movies. My insurance agent sent an email a month ago saying he was hosting a Transformers Age Of Extinction showing at the theater. We were like we're in, we're not gonna pass up a free movie. We set ourselves up for some sort of spiel about insurance or some sort of questionnaire, but it never happened. We walked in, said hi and they handed us our tickets. I thought the movie was actually really damn good. I can't wait for Transformers 5. I thought Mark Wahlberg did really well in that role. There was an all star cast, too many people to name. Noah and Transformers Age Of Extinction is a definite buy for me. I don't care if Transformers was two hours and fifty five minutes long.

 Saturday night
We went home and relaxed. we watched 13 Sins on Netflix. This movie has been done to death, but I like how this one did it. This is actually a must see, not a buy, but a must see. Melissa actually liked it also. I did has some b movie vibe going on but I would say, it was more like b plus. It had good effects.

 Sunday
We had our normal house stuff to do when it was like 90 degrees. Boy was that fun. Sarcasm doesn't normally come across easy when it's typed, I hope it did this time. For dinner we made homemade pizza.

Looks delicious already.

A little crispy, but it was amazing.
 Sunday night
All day I was transferring some movies over from the office pc to the game room pc. After quite a few hours, I went into the game room and started configuring movies and scrapers.

As you can see from the picture, we got duplicates! Yay. So I was like, I'm not having this, so I figured out how to delete the duplicates. After quite a few rows of movies, I was like, hey let me try this real quick. I clicked a movie and it said, movie was no longer in database. I clicked another movie and the same thing happened. I clicked another movie and it played. What the hell!? So now I click another movie with a duplicate and it says something like, movie has moved do you want to delete this. I click yes, click the duplicate and it works. So that means, I wasted about an hour cleaning up movies when I could have just clicked them and had Xbmc do it! So irritating. While I'm waiting for my last movie folder to transfer over, I decided to try and put some roms and emulators on Xbmc. I found a tutorial, followed word for word and ta da! I doesn't work. I download another add on, and still nothing.

So my wasted night consisted of duplicate movies, roms and emulators not working, movies still not showing up, reorganizing my whole entire fucking movie library to make it work in Xbmc and still nothing. It has just as many fucking problems as it did before I wasted hours upon hours transferring 300 plus gig of movies over my slow ass network! Yay me! It would be amazing if either I knew what the fuck I was doing or adding movies to the library and scraping data would actually fucking work. Why won't a movie show up even if the scraper doesn't find it? I don't not understand. There should be a file in the list that doesn't have any posters or art or anything just a file name Alien for instance. Why can't that happen? So how am I supposed to add one movie to my list when I have the whole folder filled with movies selected as the source? Okay, okay rant over. I put this on the "I'll figure it out list."

Anyways, I hope you had a good weekend. Till next time.
