Midweek update.

This morning, when I was surfing the net, I found out that Bob Hoskins passed away. This is truly sad. Bob was in some amazing movies and had a great career. R.I.P. Bob Hoskins you will be missed. In other news in my writing I finished one of my stories, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Mary Todd's Revenge. I can't believe I finally finished. As of this writing I already have five pageviews on it. That means, hopefully, people liked it. I'm still continuing to try and finish the other seven stories I'm working on. I started reading some material to spark creativity in me. Hopefully that works.

 Video games:
I haven't touched any games since Deadlight a couple weekends ago. Yet another thing I have to find time for.

 Music:
I haven't found any other new, to me songs.

Well, this was short and sweet. Till next time.

Weekend review 4/26/14 - 4/27/14.

Monday is here and gone already. Jeez, it seems like the weekends get faster and faster. Friday night, we watched Hereafter with Matt Damon, directed by Clint Eastwood. Side note, as you can tell from our movie selections, they're kinda old now. Our Netflix queue, is all sorts of backed up. We have 300 plus movies waiting to be watched. Anyways, the movie was good. It seemed kinda slow and sometimes the three storylines, were kind of hard to follow. I felt really bad for Matt Damon's character when he met the lady from the cooking class. My total storybook ending would have been, Matt Damon meeting the French lady and then adopting the little boy. As you can tell, my story writing influences what I watch now. After watching Hereafter, we decided to try Netflix streaming. We found Click, with Adam Sandler, Kate Beckinsale and way to many other people to name. I like how Adam Sandler, brings all of these people over from his previous movies to the new one. Click is the saddest comedy I have ever seen. It really makes you think though.

 Saturday:
We had a bunch of errands to run. I was bought off by Melissa for said errands with Jimmy Johns. I absolutely love Jimmy Johns. Saturday afternoon when we got home, I had to setup our new home phones. The ones we had before began crapping out. Like not holding a battery charge, lasting for more than an hour and ringing. Yeah, you read that right. They stopped ringing all together and stopped notifying us when there was a voicemail. So after I setup the new phones, we had a voicemail from Friday. It was nothing important luckily.

 Saturday night:
We watched a couple shows and then finished Click and then watched Coneheads. It was really sad, but interesting to see some of the actors on there, that have passed away. Their careers had so much potential. It's a shame that they are gone.

 Sunday:
We did out normal house chores. Sunday night we were going to barbecue some kabobs. The weather was really weird. We were having rain storms, hail storms and then sun breaks. We decided we were just gonna grill the chicken and vegetables on the stove and make rice and call it good.

I know pictures don't do it justice, but this dinner was amazing. Melissa found some marinade and I marinated the chicken for almost seven hours. I can't wait to have kabobs during winter now. I know this is late but stuff happens and days get busy. I hope you had a good weekend. Till next time, maybe even on time.

Midweek update.

It's that time, once again. Let's begin. Writing: I'm still stuck working on the same story. I just need time and inspiration. That's hard to come by lately.

 Music:
I found a couple, new to me, songs. Lil Jon & DJ Snake - Turn Down For What. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Whitewalls featuring ScHoolboy Q and Hollis. If you have a loud stereo, definitely, turn these two up.

 Video games:
Well this weekend, I got to play a little bit of Deadlight. This is, this months, Games With Gold offering from Microsoft. From the little bit I played, it was really fun. Side scrolling and puzzles. No other progress was made in video games. Oh well, maybe sometime.

Inspiration and truth comes in many forms. When you see it, this might be exactly what you needed, at that moment.
This is the truth.

It's cool to see how much camera technology has come. Earth day 2014.

So I'm going to geek out for a minute. These characters are from the anime called Chobits. The character on the left is called Sumomo, a mini persocom. The character on the right is Chi, a full sized persocom. Persocom, is short for personal computer.

Now this isn't my kid or anything (I don't know how to put black bars across faces either.) but this is the cutest cosplay, (costume play) I have ever seen. She is Sumomo from Chobits!

Salvador Dali, Wolverine edition. I would so hang this in my house.

Sometimes the middle of the week, feels like a long week. Woosah.

Woosah and carry on. Who knows, this week might get better than it is right now. Till next time.

Weekend review 4/19/14 - 4/20/14.

Friday night we rented, The Wolf Of Wall Street, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. Three long drawn out hours. After awhile it just keeps dragging and dragging. And what the hell do they snort? Every second someone's snorting something. Either way it's probably not good to be snorting whatever it is up their nose. In a couple scenes I saw Gilbert Grape come through from Leonardo DiCaprio.

 Saturday:
We had plans for a family gathering in Sunday, so our Easter dinner would be Saturday. I started cooking the ham. Melissa, cooked the potatoes and eggs the day before, so on Saturday all we had to do is make the potato salad and deviled eggs.

Melissa, always has creative ideas for holidays.

This holiday project was a lot of work. I helped cut the petals, that's a lot of work.

Saturday night we enjoyed our delicious Easter meal.

 Sunday:
We headed over to Melissa's brothers house. We had a barbecue and a few laughs. After we got home from there, we had out normal house chores and yard work to do. Mowing the lawn and setting the last decorative bricks, while mosquitoes ate us alive, priceless. Hah ha, no not really, but it did go down that way. After a very exhaustive weekend, we relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the night. I hope you had a good weekend and Easter. Till next time.

Midweek update.

Wednesday, what is in a Wednesday? To some, it's hump day. To others, it's halfway over. To me, it's time to update what's going on for my blog.

Writing: I finished another paragraph for one of my stories. That story, is actually pretty close to be completed. I haven't focused any other attention to anything else. For me, it's hard to continue an established line of events. That will make more sense when the story is published.

 Video games:
I am still stuck on level nine of a Link To The Past. I haven't touched The Legend Of Zelda since I beat the last dungeon.

 Music:
I haven't found any new music in a while. I guess when I do hear something new it will be worth it.

Inspiration below or a wake up call. It's up to you, how you, interpret these pictures.

Yes, I have posted the last picture before, but it actually strikes a deep chord with me and if this helps anyone, not go through what I did, then it was worth it. And this saying is truth if you think about it. Friendship, is never a competition. Till next time.

Weekend review 4/12/14 - 4/13/14.

Friday night, Melissa wanted to watch Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. I didn't, so I watched, Your Highness. Eh, it was okay. Not a buy, but good enough to kill some time. After we both watched our own movies, we watched Homefront with Jason Statham. I thought it was pretty good.

 Saturday:
Well we finally got to do some real work on and around the house. We have seen other houses around with pavers, or decorative bricks, outlining trees, gardens and flower beds. We wanted to do something like that with ours. We have an HOA, which means you have to put in an application to make changes around your house. It's both good and bad, but you know most people don't do it. So months ago we put in our application. Months later, they approved it. Now we just had to have some money and a nice day to do it. Cut to the weekend.

It was absolutely gorgeous weather. 65 plus all weekend. We headed to a new to us, store, called EE Lumber. We receive their ad all the time but nothing really caught our eyes. We needed some weed killer but not grass killer. Well EE Lumber had what we were looking for. It was actually cheaper than Lowes for the same product. It has lumber in the name so I was hoping I could find a board to fix a rotted out one on our fence and the pavers we wanted.

We pulled into the parking lot. Lumber galore so at least we could get the board and spray. Well to our surprise, they had a display area for decking and the bricks set up right up in front. Score! We headed in the store, I found the board I needed. This amazing store actually even ripped the board down for free. We found the spray and got the sku for the bricks. We paid and they sent someone out to help load the car with our bricks. Another score in my eyes. So the car looking like a lowrider, we decided to go back to the house and drop off the bricks and run the rest of our errands.

Obligatory, before and after picture.
 Saturday night:
After putting in the bricks, power washing the patio and putting in new bark in a couple places. It was time to BBQ. This was the fire one of the summer and it turned out amazing.

After the barbecue, we made some s'mores. Now we don't have a fire pit or anything, so we found the next best thing. It is a barbecue s'mores device. We found this on Amazon and we had to give it a shot. It actually did very, very well. I can't wait to make them again.

 Sunday:
We had our normal chores in the house to do. After the normal chores, we decided to wash our cars. Melissa, found this new snack on Pinterest and it turned out amazing. Salami, cream cheese and green peppers. Put the salami kind of overlapping itself. Spread the softened cream cheese on the salami. Sprinkle the sliced pepper over the cream cheese. Roll the the whole thing together. Place it in the fridge for a couple hours so it can setup. Cut and enjoy.

 Sunday night:
We were both extremely tired and exhausted. We watched the MTV Movie Awards. We got to see Grumpy Cat and have some strawberry shortcake. This was an extremely busy and exhausting weekend but it was actually a great one. I can't wait to have another great weekend. I hope you did too, till next time.

End of the week, midweek update?

Well, obviously, I missed the midweek update, so I will try and make up for it now. Better late than never. Writing: I finished two paragraphs for one story. I've been trying to come up with more for the other stories but it's just not happening.

 Video games:
I beat level eight on The Legend Of Zelda. That was damn hard. I was dying and I actually had to leave the dungeon, go back to the potion shop and but a new red potion. I would like to say how much, I just love how the "magical shield" doesn't protect you from fire balls!? What gives!? I'm also stuck on level nine of The Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past. I don't have any new music either. I know, I know, I'm slacking. Maybe next time. Random pictures from web below.

Wish I would have heard this 20 plus years ago. This is the truth if i have ever heard it. Friendship, should not be a competition!

I don't know if this is a "true" fact, but it does hold some truth.

This is the DC Bombshells art line. It's pretty cool. Different comic book women as Pinups.

The monster inside us all. Bruce's shadow, the Hulk.

That's all I got for this week. Till next time.

Midweek update.

Well this has been a long-ish week. Where to begin. Well, in writing, I came up with a new story. This brings my total stories to eight. Ha ha, I know what you're thinking, cause I'm thinking the same thing. How the hell can he possibly write all these stories? I don't exactly know but I will try my hardest. Like I've said numerous times before, when inspiration hits you either go with it, or you lose it. I personally will always try and go with inspiration wherever I find it. I wrote two paragraphs in the new story. I wrote a paragraph in another. That's really about it.

 Video games:
I have been stuck on level 8 of The Legend Of Zelda. And I haven't played A Link To The Past in awhile. Xbox games wth gold this month is Hitman: Absolution. You can grab it for free if you're gold, until the 15th.

I haven't had a chance to find any new music for a couple weeks, so I will keep looking. Inspiration picture moment below

Well that's about it. Till next time.
